2020 was a remarkable year for a lot of people, including me. We welcomed our little one into the world. Being an immigrant with a young family who was just getting integrated into their new community and country – pregnancy and childbirth were challenging. This was further exacerbated by the pandemic.

However, I was fortunate as my social networks and support systems came through for me in my most vulnerable time. The love, care, gifts, and creative check-ins due to COVID restrictions altered the course of events and transformed a trying time into a lovely and unforgettable one that allowed my family to relish the experience of parenthood despite the hurdles in the world. This experience has led me to extend the same gesture to expectant and new moms in my community since 2021 as I understand its long-lasting impact. It also gives me the utmost pleasure to see families enjoy the beauty of parenthood. 

Hailing from Punjab, India, I embarked on a new chapter in Canada just before the pandemic unfolded. As an immigrant, I've grappled with the myriad challenges of starting afresh in a foreign land. 

The challenges I faced as an immigrant, with the support I could get from my partner who resided miles apart, became worse when I lost him tragically. He was a beacon of light and my source of inspiration. Though his departure was devastating, it ignited within me an unwavering resolve to carry forward his legacy of kindness. Thus, I've made it my mission to offer support to those facing adversities, through this organization. This organization isn't merely about extending aid; it's about honoring his memory and ensuring that nobody feels alone in their life's journey. Together, united by love and solidarity, we'll make a meaningful difference.
